1월30일부터 1월31일까지 이틀간 대한바둑협회에서 주관하는 바둑지도자 자격심사에 응시하러 서울시 왕십리에 위치한 한국기원에 다녀왔다. 전국 각지에서 60여명이 응시하러 왔는데, 여성은 13명이었다.

강의력 테스트는 정확한 바둑용어 선택과 중요한 포인트를 강조해서 설명한다면 강의력 테스트에서 탈락시키는 경우는 없을 것이다. 나의 경우, 테스트장 문을 3번 노크한 후 인사와 함께 간단히 분위기를 좋게 할 수 있는 멘트와 자기소개를 간단히 했다. 강의 주제는 3연성 포석을 선택하였는데 2연성 화점의 특성을 잘 살릴 수 있는 포석이라는 설명으로 시작하여 백이 걸쳐오는 방향이 왜 넓은 쪽 부터인가를 설명, 흑의 여러가지 응수법 중에서 한칸낮은 협공에 대해서 설명하겠다고 하고, 백이 여러가지 수단이 있으나 한칸 뛰는 것은 왜 좋지 않은지 설명, 3.3에 침입하였을 때 막는 방향에 대해서 장단점을 설명, 흑 후수정석의 한단계 한단계를 흑이 뻗는 수는 호구자리의 급소임과 더불어 2점머리를 맞게 되는 점이기 때문에 절대적으로 두어야 한다는 설명, 백의 입장에서는 뚫고 나온 이후의 두 군데의 단점을 모두 방지하기 위한 수로서 차렷(또는 '쌍점')이 효과적이라는 설명, 흑은 애초 협공한 점과 변쪽에 쌓은 세력을 연결하는 수단으로서 '양날일자'가 효과적이라는 설명, 여기까지의 진행과정이 3연성의 대표적인 진행이라고 설명하자 이정도면 충분하다고 판단하시는지 테스트를 중단시켰고, 어휘선택과 깔끔한 설명이 일류강의라고 칭찬하면서 약간의 대화가 몇차례 오간 후에 테스트를 마쳤다. 내 경우는 강의하는데 2분정도 걸렸는데 내 앞의 분은 10분을 넘게 테스트장에 있었다. 나중에 다가가서 이유를 물어보니까 너무 장황하게 설명하여 심사위원이 이것저것 강의내용에 대해서 질문을 해서 오래 걸렸다고 하였다. 따라서 강의는 되도록 생략할 것은 과감하게 생략하면서 깔끔하게 하는 것이 좋을 것 같다고 생각한다.

이제 올해로 3회째를 접어들고 있는 바둑지도자시험은 앞으로 회가 거듭할 수록 점점 더 따기 어려워지는 시험이 될 것으로 예측된다. 이제 이 시험의 마지막 단계인 연수과정이 남아있다. 과연 연수교육에서는 어떠한 내용을 듣게 될 것인지 자못 궁금해 진다.
