Today, the call came from Joongang elementary school. Now that the adoption of the proposed curriculum baduk,the phone has been asked to visit schools. I'm so glad. Ready from September last year, and the results now coming slowly felt in front of my eyes. So I visited Joongang elementary school and listened teacher's description, decided my teaching time. 3 o'clock Wednesday and Friday, I decided. I could choose an earlier time, older students at the end of the course because of 3 possible moderation of the students was because we wanted to teach. I could choose an earlier time, but older students ended class at 3, I wanted to teach all grade students.

오늘 오전에 중앙초등학교에서 연락이 왔다. 내가 제시한 바둑교과가 채택되었다고 학교를 방문해 달라는 전화였다. 나는 너무너무 기뻤다. 작년 9월부터 차근차근 준비했던 것에 대한 결과물이 이제 서서히 눈앞에 다가오는 느낌이 들어서였다. 그래서 나는 낮에 중앙초등학교에 방문하여 선생님의 설명을 듣고 내가 원하는 시간대를 제시하였다. 나는 수요일과 금요일 3시로 결정하였다. 더 이른시각을 선택할 수도 있었지만, 고학년 학생들이 수업이 3시에 끝나기 때문에 가급적 전학년의 학생들을 가르치고 싶었기 때문이었다.

Principle 2. When both sides don't have eye-space, if there is only one inside liberties, regard that there is not inside liberties.

원리 2. 무가끼리의 수상전에서, 안공배가 한 개만 있을 때에는, 안공배가 없다고 본다.

If there is only one inside liberty there, the result is the same even if you think there is not inside liberty. At this figure, there are 2 per each outside liberties, so, by the principle 1, first side will win the capturing race.

오직 한 개의 안공배가 있을 경우에는, 안공배가 없는 것과 같다고 생각해도 결과는 같아진다. 이 그림의 경우 서로 바깥공배가 2개씩 있으므로 원리 1에 의해 먼저 두는 쪽이 수상전에서 이길 것이다.

Just be aware that, to be sure to fill from outside liberty. To fill the inside liberty first, reduce the liberty of enemy, but at the same time reduce their liberty, so in spite of first, lose the capturing race, so be sure to be careful.

다만 주의해야 할 것은, 반드시 바깥공배부터 메워야 한다는 것이다. 안공배를 먼저 메우는 것은 상대방의 공배를 줄이기도 하지만, 동시에 자신의 공배도 줄이게 되기 때문에, 먼저 두고도 수상전에서 지게 되므로 반드시 주의해야 한다.

Principle 3. When both sides don't have eye-space, if there are 2 or more inside liberties, favorable side ( more outside liberties ) always shoulders "inside liberties minus 1."

원리 3. 무가끼리의 수상전에서, 안공배가 2개 이상 있을 때에는, 바깥공배수가 더 많은 (유리한) 쪽에서 "안공배 - 1"을 부담한다.


When two or more inside liberties by capturing race to win, the favorable side eventually will fill themselves inside liberties.

안공배가 2개 이상일 때에는 수상전에서 유리한 쪽에서는 수상전에 이기기 위해서 결국은 안공배를 스스로 메워야 한다.


In this figure, two inside liberties. Now in principle 2 we already learned, you could ignore only one inside liberty, so the favorable side has only left one burden remaining.

이 그림에서는 안공배가 2개이다. 그런데 원리 2 에서 이미 알아보았듯이 안공배가 1개만 있으면 무시해도 된다고 했으므로, 유리한 쪽에서는 나머지 1개만 부담하면 된다.

Then outside liberty of black is more than white, so favorable side is black. So let's calculations.
black to fill the number of liberties,
Outside liberty of white 1 + inside liberty of burden 1 = total 2.
Here, as you know, insde liberty of burden is 2 - 1 = 1.
The number of liberties to fill for white is only outside liberties of black 2.
To fill the number of liberties with each other same, so black to play, wins the capturing race.

그렇다면 흑의 바깥공배가 백보다 더 많으므로 여기에서 유리한 쪽은 흑이다. 그러면 계산을 해보자.
흑이 메워야 하는 공배의 수는,
백의 바깥공배 1개 + 부담해야 하는 안공배 1개 = 총 2개가 된다.
여기에서 부담해야 하는 안공배는 2 - 1 = 1 이라는 것을 알 것이다.
백이 메워야 하는 공배의 수는, 흑의 바깥공배 2개뿐이다.
서로 메워야 하는 공배의 수가 같아서 흑이 먼저두면 수상전에서 이기게 된다.


Principle 4. When both sides don't have eye-space, if there are 2 or more inside liberties, adverse side ( less outside liberties ) can make gote draw ( seki ) ( gote seki ? is it right? ) if each side has same burdens of the number of liberties.

원리 4. 무가끼리의 수상전에서, 안공배가 2개 이상 있을 때, 바깥공배수가 더 적은 (불리한) 쪽은 서로 부담해야 하는 공배의 수가 같을 경우 후수빅을 만들 수 있다.

By principle 3, we know the number of liberties with each other to fill is 2. In this case, adverse side can't win the capturing race, but can make gote seki if adverse side to play.

원칙 3 에 의해서 서로 부담해야 하는 공배의 수가 2개씩이라는 것을 알았다. 이 경우 불리한 쪽에서는 수상전에서 이길 수는 없지만 먼저 두어서 후수빅을 만들 수 있다.

* TIP
favorable side to play,
favorable side can go other places " the number of difference of outside liberties + ( the number of inside liberties minus 1 )" times. Nevertheless, favorable side never lose the capturing race.

* 팁
유리한 쪽이 둘 차례일 경우,
바깥공배수의 차이 + ( 안공배수 - 1 ) 까지 손을 빼도 수상전에서 절대 지지 않는다.

Simply to say that, O mark is the liberty for black to fill, X mark is the liberty for white to fill. The figure in the case, black will win because black has one more liberty.

간단히 얘기해서, O 부분이 흑이 메워야 하는 공배이고, X 부분이 백이 메워야 하는 공배이다.  이 그림의 경우에는 흑이 한수 빠르기 때문에 무조건 흑이 이기는 수상전이다.

In practice, these calculations would be troublesome. Therefore, I will introduce how to read. 실전에서 이러한 계산은 귀찮을 것이다. 따라서 내가 사용하는 방법을 소개한다. 안공배 하나를 제외한 나머지 안공배와, 유리한 쪽의 바깥공배를 서로 지워나가는 것이다. 즉, 머릿속으로 세모표시한 부분에 모조리 돌이 채워져 있다고 상상하고나면, 이 수상전의 결과가 선명하게 보일 것이다.

The ending game will be a big hit a turn. Ending game of this size need to know exactly how big that is. Therefore, I will tell you the ending game "correct" size. I'm upside down, should first attempt to present the smallest ending game. Of course, next to the picture ending game, but not the smallest, most easily accessible to be presented for the first time.

끝내기는 큰 곳 부터 하게 되는데, 따라서 끝내기의 크기를 정확히 아는 것이 필요하다. 그러므로 나는 끝내기의 "정확한" 크기를 알려줄텐데, 거꾸로 가장 작은 끝내기부터 제시하려고 한다. 물론, 옆의 그림은 가장 작은 끝내기는 아니지만, 끝내기의 크기를 가장 잘 이해할 수 있는 모양이라서 처음에 제시하였다.

1 for black, black can create 1 territory from pending part.

흑이 1로 막으면 미확정 부분에서 1집이 생기게 된다.

Conversely, when white makes here, there is not anything.

반대로 백이 이곳을 두게 되면 이곳에는 아무 집도 존재하지 않게 된다.





Then, black creates 1 territory and white creates nothing.
1 + 0 = 1. this is the sum of these two cases and the "SIZE" of the ending game.

그렇다면 이곳은 흑이 두면 1집이 생기고, 백이 두면 0집이 생기게 되는데, 이 두가지 경우를 합하게 되면
1 + 0 = 1 으로 이것이 이 모양에서 끝내기의 "크기"가 된다.


흑과 백의 총 2수에 의해서 1집의 크기가 완성이되므로, 각각의 1수는 그 반인 1/2집을 "벌게 된다".

Total 2 sequences make 1 territory, so each 1 sequence "EARNs" a half.

If so, white have to earn a half, where a half is found?
It displays a triangle in the pending area, black terrotory assumes that "ALREADY" "EXIST" a half and you can understand.

그렇다면 이곳을 백이 두었을 경우에 1/2집을 벌게 되는데 그 1/2집은 어디에 있는걸까?
그것은 세모표시한 미확정영역에 흑집이 "이미" 1/2집이 "존재"하고 있다고 가정하면 이해가 된다.


Judging position is, an act to recognize the difference between each other's territory, counting the territory of tentative zone and the zone confirmed.

형세판단은, 이러한 미확정영역의 집수와 확정영역의 집수를 계산하여 서로의 집차이를 인식하는 행위이다.

Last week, while I was busy a lot. Because I wrote a proposal about baduk education. And lesson plans were prepared.

최근 일주일 사이에 나는 많이 바빴다. 여러 초등학교에 보낼 바둑 교육에 관한 제안서를 작성하였기 때문이다. 이것저것 서류를 준비하고 강의계획을 준비하였다.


I sent e-mail materials to Joongang elementary school teacher today, tomorrow I will submit documents related to Cheongdae elementary school.

나는 오늘 이 자료들을 중앙 초등학교 특기적성담당 선생님에게 이메일을 보냈고, 내일은 청대 초등학교에 관련서류들을 제출하러 갈 것이다.


If as educators in elementary school in Korea baduk If you have those who want to advance, and I'm ready to see some of this process, I believe you would be very helpful.

만약 한국에서 바둑 교육자로서 초등학교에 진출하고자 하는 분들이 있다면, 내가 준비하고 있는 이 과정들을 참고하면 많은 도움이 될 거라 믿는다.


In my proposal, first of all students who have no clue about baduk learn the basic configuration. If the students reach a certain level, I will open more advanced courses.

나의 제안서는, 우선 바둑을 전혀 모르는 학생들을 대상으로 바둑의 기초적인 과정을 가르치는 구성으로 되어있다. 내가 가르친 학생들이 일정 수준에 도달하게 되면, 더 수준높은 강좌를 더 개설해서 신청할 생각이다.

What does baduk and election have in common for winning? 이기기 위한 바둑과 선거의 공통점은?

February 4 in Gangneung, a campaign organized by the Central Election Management Committee, traveled to the Academy.  We have a well-known election strategy Lee Jaesul heard the lecture.
